Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) is a legal agreement between you (“you,” “your,” or “User”) and Celebrate Everything, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We operate the MahjMatch™ mobile application, the MahjMatch™ website located at celebrate-everything.com/mahjmatch, and any and all related services, features, content or functionality thereto (collectively, “MahjMatch™” or “the app”). This Privacy Policy explains what information MahjMatch™ handles, how it is used, and your choices.

MahjMatch™ is a personal inventory app that lets you catalog mahjong table accessories you own, such as mats, tiles, racks, dice dishes, lamps, and tablecloths, and see suggested combinations of those items. It is designed so that everything you enter stays on your own device.

By downloading, installing, accessing or using MahjMatch™, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service (the “Terms”), and any additional terms, policies and/or guidelines referenced herein, all of which are incorporated by reference into this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, you must not use the app and you must immediately cease all use of the app.

1. Information MahjMatch™ handles

1.1 Your inventory content stays on your device.

Everything you enter into MahjMatch™, including item names, categories, colors, styles, notes, and any photographs you add, is stored locally on your device using your device’s own storage. This information is never transmitted to us, and we do not receive, access, collect, or store any of it. When you add a photo to an item, that photo is selected from your device’s photo library or captured with your device’s camera and is saved only on your device. Photos are not uploaded, transmitted, or shared with us or with any third party.

If you delete an item, delete the app, or reset your device, the information stored by the app is removed accordingly. Because we never hold a copy, we cannot recover it for you.

1.2 Device and app information.

MahjMatch™ does not collect personal information about you or your device. Specifically, MahjMatch™ does not collect or use:

l  Direct identifiers such as your name, email, or account information (unless you contact us directly, as described in Section 1.3);

l  Advertising identifiers (such as the IDFA);

l  Precise or approximate geolocation;

l  Biometric information;

l  Internet or network activity within the app;

l  Analytics, tracking software development kits (SDKs), or advertising technologies of any kind.

MahjMatch™ does not contain advertising and does not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. The app does not require an account or a login to use.

1.3 Information you send us.

MahjMatch™ does not require an account, login, or any personal information to use. If you contact us directly (for example, by emailing our support address), we will receive whatever information you choose to share, typically your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to you, and we do not add you to any mailing list unless you ask us to.

2. How your information is used and shared

Because MahjMatch™ does not collect your personal information, there is generally no information for us to use or share. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or marketing.

If you contact us directly, we use the information you provide solely to respond to you and to provide support. We may disclose information you have sent us directly if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, such as a subpoena, court order, or government investigation, or to protect our legal rights.

MahjMatch™ is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information related to your download and use of the app in accordance with Apple’s own privacy policy (available at apple.com/legal/privacy). We do not receive personal information from Apple about your download or use of MahjMatch™. We encourage you to review Apple’s privacy policy.

3. Third-party services

The MahjMatch™ app does not use any third-party services that receive your personal information. The app performs its combination suggestions on your device and does not send your data to any outside service.

Our website is hosted on a third-party website platform, which may set cookies or collect limited usage information when you visit the website, as described in the Cookies section below. This does not apply to the app itself.

We do not control and we are not responsible for any third-party services’ privacy practices. Information you provide to third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the terms, policies, and privacy practices of any third-party service you use.

4. Children’s privacy

MahjMatch™ is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you may not use the app or provide any personal information to us. If you are a parent or legal guardian and you believe that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information through MahjMatch™, please contact us immediately, and we will take commercially reasonable steps to delete that personal information from our systems.

5. Your choices and rights

Because MahjMatch™ stores your information only on your own device and does not collect it, you remain in control of that information at all times. You can view, change, or delete your items within the app, and you can remove all app data by deleting the app from your device.

Because we do not store personal information about you, there is typically no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on request. If you have questions about information you have sent us directly (for example, through support emails), you can contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com to request access or deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, which are described in Section 12.

6. Data security

Your MahjMatch™ information is stored on your own device and is protected by your device’s own security features. Because the app does not transmit your information to us, there is no transmission of your inventory data for us to secure. However, no method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should protect your device with the security features available to you, such as a passcode or biometric lock.

7. Data retention

We do not retain any of your inventory content, because we never receive it. Your information remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. If you contact us directly, we retain your message only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you and to keep a record of the correspondence.

8. Cookies (website only)

This section explains cookies and similar technologies that may apply on our website. It does not apply to the MahjMatch™ app, which does not use cookies. If you have questions about this section, please contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com.

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your browser or device when you visit a website. Our website is hosted on a third-party platform that may use cookies for purposes such as operating the website, remembering your preferences, and understanding how the website is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect how the website functions. We do not use cookies to serve advertising, and we do not use advertising trackers in the app.

9. International data transfers

MahjMatch™ stores your information on your own device and does not transfer your inventory content across borders. If you contact us directly, your message may be processed in the United States of America. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

10. Do not track

MahjMatch™ does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not respond to browser “do not track” signals because the app does not perform tracking of any kind. Because we do not collect your personal information, there is no cross-site or cross-app tracking associated with your use of the app.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update or change this Privacy Policy, or any part of it, at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If we ever add features that change how information is handled (for example, an optional feature that sends data to an outside service), we will update this Privacy Policy to describe that feature before or when it becomes available. Your continued use of MahjMatch™ after changes to this Privacy Policy means you accept and agree to the updated Privacy Policy.

12. Your rights and choices; data protection rights

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have certain rights regarding personal information. Because MahjMatch™ does not collect, sell, or share your personal information, many of these rights have limited practical application to your use of the app. The following is provided for your awareness and applies to any information you may have sent us directly.

12.1 California privacy rights.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, “CCPA”), including the right to know, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right regarding information you have sent us directly, contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com with the subject line “California Privacy Rights.” We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by law.

12.2 Other U.S. state privacy rights.

If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive consumer privacy law (including, without limitation, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia), you may have rights to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, to obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling. We do not sell or share your personal information, we do not engage in targeted advertising, and we do not profile you. To exercise any right regarding information you have sent us directly, contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com and indicate the state in which you reside. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the time required by law.

12.3 Nevada privacy rights.

If you are a Nevada resident, you have the right to request that we do not sell certain personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To make a request, contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com with the subject line “Nevada Privacy Rights.”

12.4 UK, EU, and other international privacy rights.

If you are located in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, or another jurisdiction with applicable data protection laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because MahjMatch™ does not collect your personal information, these rights primarily concern any information you have sent us directly. To exercise any such right, contact us at info@celebrate-everything.com and indicate the jurisdiction in which you reside. Where we process information you have sent us directly, we rely on your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to you, and you may withdraw your consent at any time.

13. Terms of Service; other contracts

Our Terms apply to your access and use of the app, and their terms are made a part of and incorporated into this Privacy Policy by this reference. If this Privacy Policy or our Terms conflict with any language in any other contract we enter into with you (the “Contracts”), then the language in those Contracts shall govern with respect to the subject matter of those Contracts.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision of this Privacy Policy is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to accomplish its objective to the greatest extent possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Our failure to exercise any right shall not operate as a waiver of that right. The section headings in this Privacy Policy are for convenience only. This Privacy Policy shall be construed as if drafted jointly by the parties.
